Too Much Fun
I've been having too much fun with these guys lately. In fact, I've had the pleasure of making music with a good lot of great players recently! Groups to be on the lookout for are the Yada Yada Blues Band, Tim Kennedy Trio/Quartet, Congress, and Marco de Carvalho....
Kind Words From Italy
Recently recorded a four-song demo with singer Tabitha Coldiron and her songwriting partner Luke Houglum. Bass maestro Ian Sheridan was at the helm. Lots of good sounds were created and I can't wait to share 'em!
I'm happy to say that favorable reviews for my most recent EP keep coming in. This time, one from Italy! Thank you to Vincenzo Roggero of All About Jazz Italia for his kind words.
"Poontet è una piccola, sorprendente finestra aperta sulla effervescente scena musicale di Seattle. . . . Poontet è un'idea del batterista Brad Gibson realizzata con autorevolezza e piglio da leader, con leggerezza e sensibilità negli arrangiamenti, attraverso i quali prende forma una visione musicale matura e convincente."
Auburn City Limits
I had the pleasure of recording six tracks this summer for a former student of mine. Colton Backer has switched from drums to guitar and is writing some killer music. Every song he writes has its own identity.
Colton, Ian Sheridan and I recorded over at Robert Lang's. No official release set for these tracks yet, though they are available for preview over at Colton's page.
New Website, New Look
Had a blast performing a few weeks ago with Kitt Bender and Ian Sheridan at Auburn City Limits. This was the inaugural run of what will be an excellent series of showcases. Kitt, Ian and I shared the bill with Jessica Lynne and Torre.
Welcome to the, ahem, new bradgibson.com! Most of my old blog posts will likely take the big sleep, though I may transfer some ones that I think are fun/ny. Enjoy! I look forward to making music with you!
